Logistics & Facilities Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with customers with regard to order and shipment queries
  • Update project timelines on our software
  • Create and have input on Sales Order production schedules
  • General production and inspection of finished goods expediting to ensure OTD
  • Ensure finished goods and packed inline with contract requirements and applicable procedures are followed
  • Obtain quotes for parts, materials, consumables as and when required
  • Plan and coordinate transportation activities, including shipping, receiving, and distribution
  • Review and plan departmental resources to achieve customer OTD
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any transportation-related issues
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices
  • Streamline Logistic operations to enhance productivity and reduce costs
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Loading/Unloading deliveries and supervising staff to do the same
  • Negotiate rates with suppliers as required and engage with alternative logistic solutions
  • Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs. Review shipping costs and report data
  • Oversee timely completion of preventative and reactive facilities maintenance tasks
  • Maintain effective relationships with operatives and contractors
  • Liaise with waste management services
  • Organise and arrange import/export shipment of completed sales orders and sub contract activities, working with vendors and customers to ensure timely process
  • Manage, train and coach logistics operators team
  • Ensure to maintain and complete departmental documents as required
  • Comply with company QHSE procedures & applicable standards
  • Carry out other tasks as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge and application of CAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Power point
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work overtime if required
  • Supervisor experience
  • Logistics experience
  • Knowledge of Import/ export processes
  • Facilities experience
  • FLT licence would be advantageous
  • Engineering, logistics and/or facilities qualification
  • UK Driving licence desirable
  • Experience in scheduling and managing maintenance tasks
