Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

McMenon Engineering Services Ltd

1. Statement

McMenon Engineering Services Ltd is committed to conducting all of its business activities with honesty, integrity and respect for human rights. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, bonded labour, child labour and human trafficking in all its forms. We recognise our responsibility to ensure that these practices have no place within our own business or our supply chain. Although McMenon is not currently required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 due to the size of the organisation, we voluntarily publish this statement to demonstrate our commitment to ethical business practices and responsible sourcing.

2. Our Organisation

McMenon Engineering Services Ltd is a UK-based engineering company specialising in the design, manufacture, assembly, calibration and supply of flow, pressure and temperature measurement solutions for customers operating within the nuclear, energy, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and industrial sectors. Our operations are based in Workington, Cumbria, and we are committed to maintaining high standards of corporate governance, ethical conduct and social responsibility across all areas of our business.

3. Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain consists of suppliers providing raw materials, machined components, forgings, castings, fabrication, calibration services, electrical components, logistics and professional services. We recognise that the greatest potential risk of modern slavery exists within extended supply chains rather than within our own direct operations. For this reason, we operate a structured supplier approval and monitoring process to ensure that suppliers meet our expectations regarding ethical conduct, legal compliance and responsible business practices.

4. Policies and Governance

Our commitment to preventing modern slavery is supported through our Integrated Management System and a number of Company policies and procedures, including our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, Supplier Code of Conduct, Supplier Approval Procedure, Procurement Procedure, Whistleblowing Policy, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy, Risk Assessment Procedure and Environmental Management System. Together, these documents establish clear expectations for ethical behaviour, responsible sourcing and compliance with applicable legislation throughout our organisation and supply chain.

5. Due Diligence

McMenon operates a risk-based supplier approval process before new suppliers are accepted onto the Approved Supplier List. As part of this process, suppliers may be assessed for technical capability, quality management systems, financial stability, legal compliance, insurance, previous performance and ethical business practices. Where appropriate, additional due diligence or supplier audits may be undertaken to provide confidence that suppliers operate in accordance with applicable employment legislation and internationally recognised human rights principles. Suppliers are expected to notify McMenon of any circumstances that could affect their ability to comply with these requirements.

6. Risk Assessment

McMenon considers the overall risk of modern slavery within its own operations to be low due to the nature of our UK-based manufacturing activities, transparent recruitment processes and compliance with UK employment legislation. We acknowledge, however, that certain sectors and regions within the global supply chain may present a higher level of risk. These risks are managed through supplier approval, ongoing supplier performance monitoring, procurement controls and periodic reviews to ensure that identified risks remain appropriately controlled.

7. Supplier Expectations

McMenon expects all suppliers, subcontractors and business partners to operate in a lawful, ethical and responsible manner. Suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable employment legislation, prohibit forced labour, child labour and human trafficking, provide safe working conditions, respect internationally recognised human rights and ensure fair treatment of their employees. Failure to meet these expectations may result in corrective action, suspension or removal from the Company’s Approved Supplier List.

8. Training and Awareness

McMenon promotes awareness of ethical business practices through employee induction, management awareness, procurement activities and ongoing communication of Company policies. Employees involved in supplier approval, purchasing and management activities are expected to understand the Company’s approach to ethical sourcing and to report any concerns relating to modern slavery through the Company’s management or whistleblowing arrangements. We are committed to maintaining a culture in which employees can raise concerns without fear of retaliation.

9. Monitoring and Effectiveness

The effectiveness of this statement is monitored through the Company’s supplier approval process, supplier performance reviews, internal audits, procurement activities, risk assessments, Management Review meetings and corrective action processes. These activities enable McMenon to identify opportunities for improvement and to continually strengthen its approach to ethical sourcing and responsible business practices.

10. Continuous Improvement

McMenon Engineering Services Ltd is committed to continually improving its approach to preventing modern slavery and promoting ethical business conduct. We will continue to review our policies, procedures, supplier approval processes and procurement activities to ensure that our controls remain effective and proportionate to the risks associated with our business and supply chain. Lessons learned from audits, supplier reviews, customer feedback and changes in legislation will be incorporated into our management system as part of our commitment to continual improvement.

Approval

This Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the Chief Operations Officer of McMenon Engineering Services Ltd and will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains appropriate to the nature and scale of the Company’s operations.
