FAM3200 McMenon Metal Variable Area Purgemeter

Armored purgemeters for small flows of gases and liquids

Product overview

Metal Tube — FAM3200

The FAM3200 is an armored variable area purgemeter for measuring small flows of gases and liquids. It is particularly suitable for cloudy, opaque, or aggressive measuring media — for use in the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, in gas analysis plants, process engineering, well construction and all applications where glass meter tubes cannot be used.

A magnet in the float translates the height of the float to the decouple-proof magnet follower system, and the flow rate value is indicated on a scale by a pointer mounted on a rotating shaft. Devices are used for local indication, as flow rate monitors with integrated alarm signalling units, with differential pressure regulators, or with a 4 to 20 mA transmitter.

INDUSTRIES & APPLICATIONS

Small flows. Robust measurement.

Compact metal-tube flow measurement for equipment and small-flow duties where a glass tube may be unsuitable.

Chemical & PetrochemicalOil & GasPower GenerationOEM Equipment

Small-flow process lines

Measure small liquid and gas flows within process equipment and packaged systems.

Opaque liquids

Read flow on an external indicator when the liquid cannot be viewed through a glass tube.

Chemical service

Specify wetted materials to suit the chemical and its operating conditions.

Equipment cooling

Monitor small cooling-fluid flows within the selected meter’s operating limits.

Application suitability depends on the fluid, flow range, operating conditions and selected configuration.
