Variable Area Flow Meters

McMenon A6 Glass Variable Area Flowmeter

Long-term reliable performance with low cost-of-ownership

Product overview

Glass Tube — A6

McMenon A6 flowmeters are low capacity variable area flowmeters for both liquid and gas, with an excellent selection of materials and scale lengths in a single product family design. They provide optimum flexibility with a minimum number of components.

A differential pressure regulator is available to maintain a constant flowrate of a liquid or gas even when there are pressure variations, and one or two inductive ring sensor alarms can be fitted to certain model variants for High, Low or High and Low flow trip points.

McMenon variable area flowmeters are ideal for applications such as the purging of control lines and instrument enclosures, fluid sampling, liquid specific gravity, level measurement and similar services.

Highlights

Key features and options.

  • High strength corrosion resistant stainless steel body, rigidly constructed to maintain tube alignment and resist pipe strain
  • 'SNAP-IN' tube construction minimizes downtime for tube cleaning or range changes
  • Polycarbonate operator protection shield, safety tested against glass fragments
  • Component flexibility — parts interchangeable across the three scale lengths
  • Internal backcheck restricts back flow when the metering tube is removed
  • Choice of operating position — invertible body moves the control valve from inlet to outlet
  • ATEX-approved versions available with alarms (II 2G) and without alarms (II 2GD)

INDUSTRIES & APPLICATIONS

Small flows. Essential roles.

Clear flow indication for purge duties, laboratory equipment and integrated instrument systems.

Process IndustriesLaboratory & ResearchOEM Equipment

Instrument purging

Indicate and adjust small gas flows used to purge instrument lines.

Laboratory equipment

Provide direct visual indication of small liquid and gas flows in test equipment.

OEM instrument panels

Integrate compact flow indication into equipment panels and packaged systems.

Low-flow gas supply

Monitor small air and inert gas flows at the point of use.

Application suitability depends on the fluid, flow range, operating conditions and selected configuration.
