Quality Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor onsite works quality through inspections and physical checks to ensure compliance with customer requirements, standards, drawings and specifications
  • Carry out quality control check from design to final inspection, including QITPs, product inspection as per internal and customer requirements
  • Carry out Production Part Approval Process and First article inspection
  • Problem identification and resolution through the use of standard methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D etc
  • Raise NC and ensure it’s recorded and thorough investigations are carried out as per the standards
  • Own the customer relationship, promoting a one-team approach and issue resolution
  • Preparation of a range of Quality Documentation as required for customers, audits and internal requirements
  • Ensure Quality documentation and records are appropriately collated and maintain logs and registers to track quality trends
  • Conduct internal and external audits
  • Provide action plans on audit findings
  • Prepare for external technical audits and ensure it’s carried out as required
  • Regular review and monitoring of policies and procedures
  • Assist in providing and delivering QHSE training and development to colleagues
  • Ensuring that all works are delivered safely on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
  • Carry out other tasks as required

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Flexible approach to work and a can-do attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication
  • Proficient mathematical skills, arithmetic, geometry, algebra and other computation tools that support engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications
  • Knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques
  • Knowledge of various standards and their application
  • Working knowledge of designing pressure equipment to common design codes

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role to ensure areas identified in the competency matrix are improved on a yearly basis
  • Undertake all other reasonable requests as requested by your manager
  • At times of reduced department staff attendance, there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction
  • On occasion you may be required to take on ad hoc duties which include, but are not limited to: training, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments
